Sandra Penley Malloy BA, MS, MMin, LUT
My job is to facilitate a process or experience and allow my clients to find their own truth, instead of preaching mine.
I am a spiritual, but non-religious kind of person; a seeker and life long learner. My joy is in both honoring the unique path and beliefs of others and helping people discover what is true for them. I honor all faiths and traditions, including atheistic belief systems.
When I tell people I'm a minister, they often tell me they are spiritual but don't really believe in God. I ask them to tell me about the God they don't believe in and I usually don't believe in that God either. These conversations were the beginnings of my work in spiritual direction and coaching. In my coaching relationships, I am the student not the teacher. It is not about supplying answers as much as it is walking with someone to allow them to find what is right for them. It's about discovering how to be happy in the question, even when there seems to be no "right" answer. It's so inspirational to see the strength and wisdom people find in themselves through the coaching process.
Life outside of ministry is in the classroom. I have been a middle school science teacher for 20 years. I am a wife and step mom of 17 years, a step grandma. I enjoy learning new things, reading, cooking, yoga, and playing Nintendo Wii. I love spending time with my friends and family and I love taking time to continue building my own "field of dreams."
